Induna Boerboels acknowledges the Breeding Standard set down by the South African Boerboel Breeder's Association (SABT), the Historical Boerboel Association of South Africa and the Elite Boerboel Breeder's Association of Southern Africa (EBBASA). All Induna Boerboels are appraised and pointed in accordance there with.

The acceptability standards for Induna Boerboels' breeding dogs exceed the requirements laid down by all of the breeders associations. Induna's standards are very high and include, among other requirements, the following:

  • All male dogs used for breeding to have been radiologically examined for hip dysplasia at 12 months of age and to be certified as having hips rated at nil-nil only (zero dysplasia).
  • All female dogs to have been radiologically examined for hip dysplasia at 12 months of age and to be certified as having hips rated normally at nil or one, but no higher than 1-2 or 2-1 (out of a standard of zero to 4).
  • All female dogs to have been examined and certified by an approved veterinarian as being free of vaginal prolapse, such examination to have been carried out whilst in season.
  • All dogs to have been examined and certified by an approved veterinarian as being free from eye intropion and ectropion.
  • All dogs used in breeding shall have attained an individual appraisal rating, according to the South African Breeding Standard, of at least 80%.
  • All dogs used for breeding, and all puppies shipped or collected from our Kennels are permanently identified by the implantation of a uniquely numbered microchip beneath the skin. The identity of the pup, and therefore its ancestry, is thus totally and permanently authenticated.
By the rigorous application of the above requirements in all of our breeding dogs, the possibility of serious genetic defects' being present in our puppies is minimised. This practice not only promotes the gradual improvement of the breed as a whole but also contributes to the peace of mind of those acquiring our puppies, whether for breeding purposes or as family companions.

All dogs or puppies sold as breeding quality or pick of litter are subject to a limited guarantee in respect of certain genetic defects; a further guarantee is given with regard to the overall quality of the dog and to its conformance with the requirements of the breeding standard.
