Induna is set on 4,6 acres of land in the Gauteng (previously Transvaal) South African countryside, some dozen or so kilometres from Johannesburg International Airport, the air transportation hub of Southern Africa.
Our South African Boerboel breeding stock has been selected from the best bloodlines available in the country, and every prospective breeding dog is examined up to and at the age of one year for suitability for breeding in order to preserve and improve the quality of our dogs as well as that of the breed in general. Dogs that are found to be unsuitable for breeding are normally sterilised and are found homes as pets.

A Happy Boerboel...

Some of our pals...

Induna Boerboels is run personally by Ann and Richard Woodward, and every effort is made to ensure that all of the dogs in the programme remain individuals, that they get personal attention and lots of affection, and that they are kept in the peak of health and condition. The quality of our breeding dogs and the high standard of selection and certification employed, as well as the homely environment in which all of our puppies and dogs are brought up, ensures that the temperament of our dogs remains exemplary, and as it should be. A healthy and much-loved Boerboel is a happy Boerboel - and it shows!
Why Induna Boerboels? Induna is the Zulu word for headman, chief or other powerful male figure. It is therefore a highly appropriate name for our kennels, reflecting the African character of the Boerboel dog as well as the strength and power inherent in these magnificent animals. boerboel
